Michelle Perera

Michelle Perera was born in Rome to Sri Lankan parents. At the age of 18, she made her first TV appearance on Rai Uno’s “I Raccomandati” hosted by Carlo Conti, where she performed a duet with Adriano Pappalardo, winning the episode and qualifying for the finale. She went on to participate in and win Il Cantagiro. Her powerful voice also led her to sing and later speak on Radio Kiss Kiss every Sunday for months alongside Antonio Gerardi.

Michelle participated in the final auditions for The Voice of Germany, successfully advancing through all the stages and reaching the live shows, a feat covered by the Italian news agency ANSA. The press dubbed her “the Italian Hurricane.” She later joined The Voice of Italy, reaching the live shows as part of Raffaella Carrà’s team.

Michelle has also starred in some of the biggest Italian musicals, receiving critical acclaim for her performances under the direction of Federico Bellone, the only Italian director praised by the international press. She played Mabel in Fame (Saranno Famosi), but her true breakthrough came when she portrayed Violetta Beauregarde.

In 2020, Michelle was chosen as the representative face for the music video of Laura Pausini’s song “Io sì,” which won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Academy Award. In 2021, Michelle became the standout star of the “All Together Now” competition, making it to the finale.

In 2022, she featured on the house music legend David Morales’ album, performing the title track “Life is a Song” and contributing as a writer and composer for other songs on the album.

In 2023, Michelle released her first track with OGAMI Music, “Roll Up,” marking another milestone in her career.
